Today, September 3, 2026, Ethiopian Women Lawyers' Association (EWLA) had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from #Demo Finland led by Sirpa Tapaninen at its head office in Addis Ababa.

During the visit, EWLA Program manager, Mr. Wendmneh Lemma, along with other program team, reflected on EWLA’s more than 30-year mission of championing women’s rights, boosting civic engagement, and driving women's participation in political and election processes.

The delegation also toured EWLA's core operations-including free Legal Aid Department and confidential hotline service to see firsthand information on how we deliver essential legal and psychosocial support to women across Ethiopia.

We are deeply grateful for this valuable experience sharing and look forward to building a strong, lasting partnership with Demo Finland to advance gender equality and justice!

It was a great pleasure to visit the Olympic House together with our judo Olympians and to be welcomed by IOC Director General Christophe De Kepper and IOC Sports Director Pierre Ducrey. Seeing our athletes add their names to the Olympians Wall was a proud moment and a reminder of judo’s strong place within the Olympic family.

I am also very pleased that during this historic first Grand Slam we signed the agreement for Lausanne to host the 2028 World Judo Championships. It reflects our confidence in Switzerland and our shared ambition to continue developing judo at the highest level.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the City of Lausanne, the Canton of Vaud, the Swiss Judo Federation and its President Sergei Aschwanden for their warm welcome, commitment and excellent cooperation, as well as to all our partners, officials and volunteers who contributed to the success of this first edition.

He was undoubtedly one of the most dedicated students I have ever had the pleasure of teaching. Whenever one of my students becomes an achiever, there is always one question that comes to my mind: Why did this particular student succeed? In Jonruz’s case, the answer is quite simple. He was always eager to absorb as much information as possible. He listened carefully to feedback, identified his weaknesses, and, most importantly, corrected his mistakes almost immediately.

You know what they say: fewer mistakes, faster progress.

Unfortunately, this is a quality that some stubborn students lack. Even after receiving tons of feedback, they somehow manage to make the same foolish mistakes again and again, only to remain stuck at the very same level. 😄 Jonruz, however, was different. He listened, learned, corrected himself, and kept moving forward. Jonruz, you absolutely nailed it! Although this achievement probably does not fully reflect your true overall level and potential, it is what it is(((
