💰 High school coder sells Telegram NFT for $20,000
Jonathan He, a US high school student who placed seventh at the 2026 International Olympiad in Informatics, sold his Telegram Algorithm Cup NFT for 15,000 Grams—worth approximately $20,400. The sale price was roughly 40 times the average value Telegram guaranteed for the 235 prize-winning medals.
Telegram promised 235 medalists a combined $117,000 in Algorithm Cups, averaging close to $500 per collectible. He competes for Team USA and interns as an engineer at trading firm Liquid.
Pavel Durov, Telegram's founder, highlighted the sale on his channel, calling it "seed money" and urging other winners to build startups with their earnings. Durov noted that $20,000was enough to launch his first company 20 years ago, which reached 1M users and raised $12M.
💰 GRAM traded near $1.36 on the day of sale
