Bad blood – B2/C1 When a vampire visits a young couple in love, can they – and their love – survive?
David and Emma gazed at each other across the table. The young couple were content: the meal was delicious, the candlelight was soft and the music captured the moment perfectly.
David looked at Emma's beautiful smile. All the pain of his last break-up, all his doubts and fears about love melted away. His hand reached out and touched hers nervously.
'I have something I want to ask you.' David searched her eyes to see if she guessed what was coming.
Her smile was reassuring. She squeezed his hand. 'You needn't worry. Whatever it is, I'm sure I'll say yes!'
A huge wave of excitement went through him as he prepared to ask the most important question of his life.
From the corner of the restaurant, a strange man watched them. He sat, stiff and unmoving, at his table, pretending to read a menu. But all the while, he stared with cold eyes at the young couple.
Back at their table, David suddenly felt his nerves return.
'Excuse me,' he said to Emma. He pushed his chair back and went to the toilet. As he looked at his reflection in the mirror, he took a deep breath and told himself: 'Come on, David, come on! You can do this, mate! She's crazy about you!'
He nodded at himself and, feeling braver, he stepped outside the bathroom. He bumped straight into the extremely tall man, who was waiting by the door. The man's eyes were a cold, bright blue and his face was pale with a sharp, pointed nose and thin, pale lips.
'Oh, sorry!' said David.
'Which one?' the man hissed. He spoke with a strange, heavy accent that David had never heard before.
For a moment, David was confused until he realised what the other man meant.
'Er ... oh! This one!' said David, helpfully. 'This is the men's toilet!'
David went back into the restaurant, reaching into his pocket for the small, square-shaped box. He was now filled with courage. He was going to ask her.
The taxi ride home was heaven. The happy pair discussed their future life together and shared sweet words of admiration.
'The night I proposed!' said David.
'The night I accepted!' replied Emma.
'Just think, a whole life together!'
'Caring, sharing, …' he began.
'... loving, giving!' Emma finished his sentence.
They smiled at each other in love and excitement.
'You are so wonderful!' sighed David.
'And you're absolutely gorgeous!' said Emma. 'I've never met anyone so lovely and kind! I'm so happy I could sing!'
But as they entered their block of flats, holding hands, a tall figure watched them from the shadows.
'Which one?' he whispered to himself.
He watched the building, waiting for a light to come on and give away which flat was theirs. One minute went by … two … there it was! The light went on in a third-floor window. Emma was briefly visible as she closed the curtains.
How often had the sharp-toothed watcher stood on corners like this observing his victims? Many corners! Many windows! A thin smile spread across his pale lips. He moved out of the shadows to the door and pressed all the doorbells. The vampire was always grateful for these modern flats. Sooner or later someone would let you in, thinking it was a pizza delivery. Silly humans! It was a kind of invitation – and that was all he needed to enter a home.
As he climbed the stairs to the third floor and walked soundlessly down the hall, he could hear the young couple's laughter and conversation. As he pressed his ear against the door, he could hear their conversation. Young love made for the sweetest blood; it was so full of life and energy.
'I feel as if I'm in a film,' she was saying.
'More like a dream,' he replied.
'Yes, a dream. How lucky we are!'
'Guess who I'll be dreaming about tonight!' he teased.
'Who? Who?'
'Her hair smells of roses! She's like an angel!'
Their dream was about to become a nightmare, the vampire thought. He burst through the door and stood there with a cruel expression, showing his sharp teeth. The couple screamed and held each other in terrified silence. The vampire smelled the tension and tasted the fear. This was how he liked it. Fear made the blood even sweeter.
'There's my wallet! On the table, there! Take it!' said David. 'Take anything you want!'
'Indeed, I will take anything I want!' the vampire replied.
'Fine! Fine! We won't stop you, I promise!' David cried.
'You won't! I promise!' replied the vampire.
As the light shone on the sharp, pointed teeth, the terrible realisation came to David and Emma at the same time.
'Look at his teeth! Is he ... ?'
'A vampire!!'
'Which one?' the vampire hissed. 'It can be … only one!'
The couple's eyes were wide open and staring. Their mouths hung open in horror. They held each other's hands and their stomachs filled with fear.
'Already tonight,' continued the vampire. 'I have drunk from three. One more ... then … I can … sleep … and feel young again.'
David felt a strong instinct as the vampire moved towards them. He stepped in front of Emma and protected his wife-to-be. Emma gratefully held on to his back.
The vampire was in no rush. Who best to attack? he asked himself. Which one?
'Thank you,' Emma whispered to David, 'for what you're doing for me.'
'Of course, darling. I'm here to protect you.' Pride swept over him as he said the words. He could fight this vampire. All he needed was a cross, or something to stab him through the heart. He looked around for something ...
'You're so selfless to offer yourself so bravely,' continued Emma, admiringly.
'Pardon?' asked David. 'What the hell are you talking about?'
'Oh!' said Emma. 'I just thought that with your love for me and everything …'
David and the vampire stared at each other.
'Now, listen, Emma. There is no doubt about my love for you!'
'Really?' she replied, her voice heavy with disbelief.
'But you can't expect me to just throw away my life!'
'I wasn't saying you should!' she said. 'It's just one of our options, that's all!'
'Well, think of another one!' he argued. 'Why don't you offer yourself up for me!'
The mood in the room had certainly turned ugly. The vampire was displeased that the fear and love had turned into petty arguments.
Emma was furious. 'I hope you're joking!'
'Let's see how strong your love is!' he said, angrily.
'What a gentleman!'
'What a lovely woman I was planning to marry. Offering me up like a bone to a dog!'
'You said my hair smells of roses!' she cried.
'All right, all right! Calm down!' David was a little embarrassed to be having this argument in front of a stranger.
'I'm an angel, you said!' she carried on shouting.
'MUST… FEED!' shouted the vampire furiously as he came even closer. He was determined to make a quick kill and get to bed as soon as possible, away from this terrible pair.
His eyes opened wider and he showed his teeth. 'WHICH ... ONE?'
'HER!' said David, pointing at his future wife.
'HIM! HIM!' screamed Emma in rage. 'Please, take HIM!'
The vampire approached David.
'She's younger! Sweeter!' said David.
The vampire turned to Emma.
'He's bigger! There's more of him!' she said, pointing desperately.
Suddenly a wave of tiredness came over the vampire. He was centuries old, and listening to them was exhausting and depressing. How could he feel better by feeding on either of these pathetic creatures?
He looked down upon their terrified faces and cried, 'BAD BLOOD!'
And with that, he disappeared into the night air and left Emma and David alone together. Together, as they had promised, for the rest of their lives.

КАК ГОСУДАРСТВО ДОЛЖНО ПОСТУПАТЬ С ОТКРЫТЫМ ВРАГОМ?
Поступила информация, что в Ставрополье некий Эшметов, нагло и открыто внутри помещения органов внутренних дел демонстрировал символику противника. Того самого противника который убивает нас и которого убиваем мы. Таким образом Эшметов наглядно продемонстрировал, что готов так же убивать нас.
Какие меры для обеспечения безопасности государства и общества, а также самого Эшметова, в рамках правовой системы РФ должен был применить суд, с учётом его демонстративного циничного выступления в стенах органов внутренних дел?
Очевидно, что самая здравая мера в данной ситуации — выдворение Эшметова за пределы РФ, например, на территорию противника, симпатии которому он наглядно всем нам продемонстрировал; в рамках очередного обмена военнопленными.
Однако суд, как нам стало известно, этому лицу, открыто и цинично обозначившемуся в качестве врага, назначил административный штраф в размере 30 тысяч рублей, отметив в революционной части, что «именно такая мера государственного принуждения сможет обеспечить достижение воспитательной, предупредительной цели административного наказания».
Вместе с тем любому, находящемуся в здравом уме, очевидно, что подобная мера не только не «сможет обеспечить воспитательной цели», но напротив, даст побудительный характер для всех скрытых врагов нашего государства и русской нации, поступать подобным же образом.
С другой же стороны, ветеранское сообщество не может в подобных условиях внутри своей же страны сохранять чувство безопасности за себя, своих родных и близких. Если государство не может или почему-то не хочет защищать своих граждан, которые отдают жизнь и здоровье в борьбе против внешнего врага, это бремя на себя будут вынуждены взвалить сами граждане в рамках правовой системы страны, а главное, во славу здравого смысла.
Таким образом если административная система не сумела поступить с Эшметовым, как с открытым противником, с ним народ страны может поступить, как с врагом на поле боя?

Южный Тегеран был полон молодых людей, недавно прибывших из консервативно настроенных деревень, у которых либо не было работы, либо были им открыты только низкооплачиваемые рабочие места. Для многих из них это означало низкие шансы жениться или содержать семью в течение нескольких лет – возможно, до конца жизни. Но если они платили небольшую плату за проезд в общественном такси до более богатых центральных и северных районов города, то совершенно бесплатно могли видеть, как симпатичные молодые женщины расхаживают по улицам, одетые по откровенной западной моде, без сопровождения или с подругами, демонстрируя свою свободу, деньги, красоту и, с определенной точки зрения, привлекательность, независимость, безнравственность и пренебрежение к религии. Тем, кто привык к жизни в более традиционных районах страны (где многие женщины проводили большую часть своего времени в семейном доме), казалось, что в Тегеране женщин просто больше:
Парвиз сказал ему, что ему повезло (или не повезло, в зависимости от того, как на это посмотреть), что он пропустил Тегеран шестидесятых годов, когда царило повальное увлечение мини-юбками, потому что одного часа, проведенного на главной торговой улице, хватило бы ему на целый месяц раскаяния.

Это очень точное наблюдение. Оно особенно актуально для мсульманских сообществ — они всегда в силу своего общественного устройства и социальных норм порождали огромный пул фрустрированной и революционной молодежи.
▪️ Во-первых, ислам терпимо относится к полигинии. Там, где она распространена, старые и богатые мужчины будут забирать себе молодых и красивых женщин в силу обладания необходимыми ресурсами и статусом для поддержания семей. В итоге многие бедные мужчины рискуют навсегда остаться без жены.
▪️ Во-вторых, строгие нормы, регулирующие отношения между полами, снижают возможность любого контакта между молодыми мужчинами и молодыми женщинами до брака.
▪️ В-третьих, невозможность жениться крайне сильно бьет по статусу мужчин в мусульманских обществах. Мужчина без жены — это буквально неполноценный человек.
▪️ В-четвертых, традиционно высокая рождаемость в мусульманских обществах увеличивает количество бедной и фрустрированной молодежи. В Иране второй половины XX века этот тренд явно был налицо.
Шахский Иран, взявший курс на модернизацию и отказ от строгих социальных норм ислама, представлял собой идеальную площадку для тихой и незаметной радикализации деревенской молодежи. Неудивительно, что красивая жизнь, которую так ярко пропагандировала реклама и девушки, вызывала у них сильную фрустрацию — ведь она была им недоступна. MAKING WOTAN NETWORK INTO AN EFFECTIVE GAME-CHANGER
Wotan Network, as this is being written, is undergoing important change. Up until now it has consisted of an idea in The Spear, occasional posts by myself or others, and the effect it had on people scattered around the United States and beyond. Nevertheless, it was a beginning. What follows is a much more ambitious plan.
The Spear will be the operational manual - the field manual, so to speak - of the Network; it is non-violent, it does not promote "hate", it is full of things that people can do as individuals or in small groups to promote the interests and welfare of our people.
My intention is to have a place where motivated Whites can carry out any of the actions suggested in The Spear, and get that action posted anonymously on our site. No one will use their real names; those will be accessible ONLY to leadership . Photos, if any, will be devoid of identifiable details - obviously no facial pics or any clues that AI could detect. Submissions will be vetted by us for approval. Photos are certainly not mandatory. One could submit an item announcing that they are having another child, or that they put up posters, and the like. The atmosphere overall should be joyous, convivial, and friendly; not gloomy, pessimistic or hostile; we laugh in the faces of the black-pillers.
Some items submitted - and perhaps some that are especially effective - will be those connected to Odin World Prayer Day or similar recurring dates initiated by other creators. We can literally put these on the calendar, since OWPD is "legit" and is not a creation of Wotan Network, but it definitely deserves a mention, encouragement, and our participation. Members of Wotan Network are urged to take part in activities as described in The Spear, and report back to all of us. Members' birth names will be on record with us, but will not be released to the outside world. The adoption of false Germanic/Norse names for posting is an option.
Some of the activities listed below are taken straight out of The Spear: Wotan on the Peaks Runes at Random Deep Runes Odin World Prayer Day (mentioned above) Memes - old fashioned, dated by a couple of years - but still a good weapon - posted on social media. Leaflets/stickers/cards, distributed openly or just left in places where others can see, and take, them. (We could create these and sell them, thus giving WN at least some cash to finance our operations, as well as control over our content!) Practice our Germanic religion, remind our readers of our holy days, urge them to observe those days privately or with others, and promote our beliefs.
Most of the above items are done publicly or with friends and acquaintances, but individual lifestyle choices count, and should be included on the list - marrying a partner who is red-pilled, and having children...wearing a runic tee shirt or one with a Nordic theme...wearing Thor's hammer and being ready to explain it to the curious (better yet, give a descriptive card to to an enquiring stranger)....These are relatively minor actions but we should encourage them, and giving these acts attention in our media will motivate us to greater efforts.

📖 Булгаковский дом в центре Москвы снова ожил!
В Мансуровском переулке завершилась реставрация того самого деревянного дома №9, где Михаил Булгаков «поселил» Мастера. Здание — объект культурного наследия регионального значения — вернуло свой исторический облик.
Что сделали мастера:
* Отреставрировали белокаменный цоколь и две изразцовые печи (ту самую печь подробно описывали в романе); * Восстановили окна, исторические полы и элементы декора на фасаде; * Полностью воссоздали старинную лестницу.

Kulturmarxismus bezeichnet die marxistischen Ausprägungen des kulturellen Lebens und beinhaltet die Kontrolle der kulturellen Bereiche wie Medien, Kunst, Theater, Film und anderer kultureller Institutionen in der Gesellschaft, zumeist mit dem Schwerpunkt auf Klassenumstülpung, Rassenverleugnung und Geschlechtergleichschaltung.
Der Kulturmarxismus entstand als Reaktion auf das Scheitern des klassischen ökonomischen Marxismus nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg. Nationale Solidarität, Familienbindungen, Kirchenzugehörigkeit und Monarchentreue erwiesen sich als deutlich stärker als der propagierte „Klassenstandpunkt“ des internationalen Proletariats. Mit dem wachsenden Massenwohlstand durch Industrialisierung verlor die kommunistische Agitation auf Basis von Elend und Klassenkampf ihre Grundlage.
Marxistische Theoretiker, darunter Antonio Gramsci (mit seinem Konzept des „Marschs durch die Institutionen“), verlagerten die Strategie daher vom Ökonomischen ins Kulturelle. Sie propagierten dekadente und traditionsfeindliche Kultur, um europäische Werte, Familie, Nation und Religion zu schwächen und Platz für eine kommunistische Herrschaftsagenda zu schaffen. Der Fokus verschob sich vom proletarischen Klassenkampf hin zur kulturellen Pervertierung. Nationale Identität und Christentum wurden als Hauptfeinde identifiziert. Die Arbeiterschaft wurde als revolutionäres Subjekt weitgehend aufgegeben.
Verbindungen von Marx mit Freud und anderen (z. B. Kulturrelativismus von Lévi-Strauss), die gesellschaftliche Normen, Sexualität und Familie dekonstruieren sollten. Als politisches Instrument dient er der systematischen Zersetzung traditioneller Bindungen (Familie, Volk, Heimat, Religion). Dazu gehören Narrative wie Massenzuwanderung als angebliche wirtschaftliche Notwendigkeit, die letztlich Chaos und ethnische Konflikte erzeugen soll.
(Political Correctness) als Machtinstrument: Sie fungiert nach Theodore Dalrymple als moderne Form kommunistischer Propaganda. Ihr Ziel ist nicht Überzeugung, sondern Demütigung und Kontrolle durch erzwungene Lüge und Selbstzensur. Sie schafft „kastrierte Lügner“, die leicht zu beherrschen sind, und ersetzt offenen Kommunismus durch Begriffe wie „progressiv“.
⚠️ Der Kulturmarxismus arbeitet auf die Entmündigung des Einzelnen hin. Kulturell entwurzelte, familienlose Menschen ohne Herkunftsbewusstsein werden abhängig vom Staat. Durch schuldenfinanzierte Sozialleistungen, Medienkontrolle und die Zerstörung traditioneller Strukturen soll eine Gesellschaft entstehen, die einer globalen, egalitären Herrschaft („Eine-Welt-Regierung“) nicht mehr widerstehen kann. Dies mündet in Enteignung, Chaos und letztlich die vollständige Umwälzung bestehender Ordnungen.

Скотт Александр написал пост о том, что AI-суперпредсказатели (современные LLM со специальной обвязкой, заточенной под эту задачу) дескать уже сейчас соревнуются в корректной оценке вероятностей разных событий плюс-минус на равных с топовыми человечьими суперфоркастерами.
Он там приводит в пример FutureSearch – один из таких специализированных ИИ-инструментов, который находится в более-менее открытом доступе. Естественно, я не мог упустить возможность потестировать его!
Смотрите, я на той неделе писал о возможности сделать на Полимаркете ставку на то, что Путин останется у власти как минимум до конца текущего года, по «цене» 86% (что эквивалентно «доходности к погашению» в размере 37,5% годовых в долларах). Сейчас уже вероятность поднялась до 89% (прибыль 3,5% за неделю, noice!), но всё равно остается на глаз довольно низкой.
Так вот, я попросил этот самый FutureSearch оценить вероятность ухода Путина с поста президента до конца года по любым причинам – результат можно наблюдать на приложенном скриншоте. Три «нейроисследователя» прошерстили 146 источников и пришли к выводу, что вероятность составляет около 5%: 1,5% по базовым медицинским причинам и 3,5% на прочие силовые методы. С первым компонентом всё понятно, а вот как конкретно эти ребята вышли на 3,5% – я, к сожалению, так и не понял. Но концептуально это не сильно далеко от моей собственной «прикидочной» оценки.
Для сравнения, что ответили другие современные модели (без какой-либо специальной обвязки, просто ответы на тот же самый вопрос):
🐌 Claude Fable 5 – самая мощная на текущий момент базовая модель (на этой неделе платные юзеры Клода как раз еще имеют к ней доступ без доплаты): 3–5%, короче около 4%. По сути, почти тот же результат, что у FutureSearch выше.
🐌 Claude Opus 4.8: 4–8% – тут уже вероятность заметно выше. Вся вариация здесь и ниже идет в основном за счет того, как разные модели оценивают вероятность переворота в том или ином виде.
🐌 ChatGPT 5.5: 9% – этот сразу первым делом полез на Polymarket проверять вероятности и, видимо, заякорился на них. Написал, что «текущие 11% на Полимаркете могут быть завышены действиями не самых умных китов, но…»
🐌 Gemini 3.1 Pro: этот, по сути, вообще отказался оценивать вероятность самостоятельно. Сразу написал «бро, там на Полимаркете дают около 12% – я хз, чем тут тебе еще помочь можно».
🐌 Grok Expert: 11–13%. Этот тоже, кажется, на Полимаркет заякорился.
Вывод: кажется, проверять вероятности на Fable / FutureSearch выглядит не самой глупой идеей.
