I learned so many things from other people that he was doing that I'd never known about.
He was a brilliant man. He used his 180 IQ in many ways. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was in the Civil Engineering Unit in Plattsburgh, New York, then became one of the FIRST Airmen in the FIRST United States Air Force, Air Commandos Group, known as Special Operations, at Hurlburt Field, Florida, in the early 1960s.
He was a Divisional Manager at a major Corporation for many years and credited with quite a few creations, specifically with Engineering and Production, in a company that's still a name brand to this date.
He spelled everything out to a 'T'. He left very detailed instructions on what Preachers he wanted (if they were still living), the songs he wanted played (his Favorite Old Gospel Standards), and suggested in writing, an evening burial where the older people would not get too hot or stand too long in the heat.
He remained old school and wrote everything down. He was hip though - he was very tech savvy hence the Engineering mind. He was an iPhone or bust guy! He'd tell me all the time how Androids suck and that's why my service sucked LOL!
Everyone who TRULY knew him - knew - you NEVER had to guess where you stood with him. He was open, transparent, and honest from the H to the T.
He did NOT leave any stones unturned. He took care of business. He handled business. And was a very successful businessman and man.
And unfortunately, I should not have to include this, but must consider the circumstances and other 'sources'...
The ONLY unfortunate thing due to horrendous weather conditions, torrential downpours of insane rains and flooding, that did not let up any... The United States Air Force was not at his Funeral for the presenting of Colors and Arms.
However, and also very unfortunate, especially considering everything is LAWFULLY RECORDED.
I have some other recorded details, I will unveil later if I must for public record, of unprofessional obstruction.
I’ll leave it at that.
Despite the one flaw, from the Preachers, to the Songs, to the Church, to the Time, to those who mattered to him, his last wishes were carried out to the 'T' of what He asked for but also what He deserved.
Due to the unfortunate circumstance, that leads me to this...
I will be setting a date, more than likely on Veterans Day, to have a Memorial Service for him WITH an Honor Guard presenting Colors for the OFFICIAL Folding of the Flag, presented to the person of protocol.
I wanted to have it on his Birthday, but it's still brutally hot here, plus the stone came in today, Sept. 2, which is not enough time to do so.
Veterans Day will still be perfect plus it will be the first Veterans Day without him to those who knew and loved him.
He loved God! He loved Jesus, his Savior! He loved Family! He loved Friends! He loved People! He loved life! He loved his 'Wonderboy!' (that's what he called me haha)! He loved 'the Love of his Life!'
I had written a song for him in which I have his video reaction to - in which he rarely teared up - but the lyrics are his actual words:
"You've done everything your Mother and I asked you to do, you've honored us and your Grandparents well. You've turned into everything I prayed and dreamed you'd be. I'm an old man now, and I'm glad God let me live this long 'cause it's been a joy watching you grow up and doing what you're doing, and I just hope that God allows for you to be one too, because you deserve to be an Old Man Too."
I'm honored to have had such a man in my life for 43 years like him. Now, it's time to live out his Legacy and try to be more like him daily.
And just like the lyrics of Old Man Too... "One day you'll stare in the mirror and say 'ole Dad was right'... and if you look a little closer, you can see me through your eyes.'
Already see you. Already miss you more than anything in the world.
I don't know if you can see it, but I love you, Dad.
I will see you again someday. - Wonderboy.
Roll Tide Roll. 🙏🏼🐘♠️🇺🇸
