🔥 Good news, everyone!

We've been working toward this for a long time and can finally announce it: @AximoBot has been completely rebuilt. Get comfortable, because there's going to be a lot of news, over the next three or four weeks we'll be writing mostly about your favorite bot for delivering posts from social media and RSS.

News number one: the bot is now available not just as @AximoBot but also simply as @Aximo. We bought the name quite a while ago, but never got around to upgrading the bot to promo status, since that costs a thousand stars. But since we were rebuilding everything anyway, we figured it was worth splashing out. So the bot now has all the premium features, though you're probably only interested in one: the ability to publish premium emoji. No more crutches with a linked premium account, you just add them to your template and it works. Or if your source is a Telegram channel that publishes premium emoji too, you'll get everything as is. And as a bonus, we added the ability to publish posts, but we'll talk about that in more detail a bit later, there's far too much to cover.

The second big piece of news: we built a proper website for the bot, aximo.bot. It's more of a promo site: all the plans and how the system works. But you'll probably find the documentation section the most interesting, since you can calmly go through all the available features on a computer, showing all that inside the bot is a bit awkward.

I think you've already noticed that we completely removed configuration from the bot itself, everything now lives in the mini app. The reason is pretty simple: there's a lot of functionality now, and for complex configs like filters, replacements and templates, a chat was simply a nightmare that generated a pile of errors. Yes, the mini app works from a phone, but you can also use it from a computer: just log in through Telegram and configure everything however you like in a convenient interface.

Two more things about the mini app: — Every section now has a link to the matching section of the documentation, so if something isn't clear you can go straight to the site and read how to use it. Should help a lot when you have no idea what's going on. — We added a "Help" section where you can chat with an AI bot. We trained it on the existing documentation, but honestly, it can be dumb. So if you'd rather talk to a live human, welcome to our support group.

But we understand that not everyone enjoys sitting in mini apps, so the basic settings stayed in the bot. You send a link to a source, the bot asks where to add it, to your DMs or to a group or channel, shows info about the source and lets you pick the mode: quietly or with the latest posts sent. The bot also kept the list of your sources, with buttons to refresh, disable or delete. No need to open the mini app for that.

And two more big changes: — Twitter recently declared war on every service that pulls data from them, so we had to cut its support quite a bit and move to paid APIs, which means every request costs us money. But some services decided to fight back and started working through alternative routes. Before, we only delivered sources available from Twitter directly, while it was hiding most of them. Now we have a fallback option to go through those alternative services, so we've restored Twitter support almost completely. — Good news for premium users who follow Instagram: we previously couldn't deliver posts from restricted accounts, meaning the ones that require age verification. We found several alternative paid services that can monitor such accounts, so premium plan owners will now get posts from restricted accounts too. For free plans we unfortunately can't enable it, every request costs money.

That's it for today, the post no longer fits Telegram's limits, even on a premium account. So the updated plans and a few dozen new features will have to wait for next time. Stay tuned!

Try it out and test it. If you run into any problems, write to @madbots_talk.

🔀 Now, let's Understand Conditional Statements 👨‍💻🔥

After variables, data types, and operators, the next important concept is conditional statements.

Conditional statements allow a program to make decisions based on whether something is true or false.

For example:

If the temperature is high → turn on the fan.

Otherwise → keep it off.

This type of decision-making is used in almost every real-world application.

🧠 1. What is a Condition?

A condition is an expression that produces a Boolean result: True or False

Example: age = 20 age >= 18 The result is: True because 20 is greater than or equal to 18.

🐍 2. The "if" Statement

The if statement executes a block of code when a condition is true. age = 20

if age >= 18:     print("Eligible") Since the condition is true, the message is displayed.

🔄 3. The "if-else" Statement

Sometimes we need to handle both possibilities. age = 16

if age >= 18:     print("Eligible") else:     print("Not eligible") Here, the condition is false, so the else block runs.

🧩 4. The "if-elif-else" Statement

When there are multiple possible conditions, we can use elif. marks = 75

if marks >= 90:     print("Excellent") elif marks >= 60:     print("Good") else:     print("Needs improvement") Python checks the conditions from top to bottom. Once it finds a true condition, its corresponding block is executed.

🔗 5. Multiple Conditions

Logical operators can be used to combine conditions. age = 25 has_ticket = True

if age >= 18 and has_ticket:     print("Entry allowed") Both conditions must be true because and is being used.

❌ 6. Using "not"

The not operator reverses a Boolean condition. is_blocked = False

if not is_blocked:     print("Access allowed") Since is_blocked is False, not is_blocked becomes True.

🌐 7. Conditional Statements in Different Languages

The concept is similar across programming languages, although the syntax changes.

Python if age >= 18:     print("Adult") JavaScript if (age >= 18) {     console.log("Adult"); } Java if (age >= 18) {     System.out.println("Adult"); } C++ if (age >= 18) {     cout << "Adult"; } The fundamental idea remains the same: evaluate a condition and decide what code should execute.

🏦 8. Real-World Uses

Conditional statements are used everywhere:

✔ Login authentication

✔ ATM transactions

✔ Online shopping

✔ Age verification

✔ Payment processing

✔ Game logic

✔ Form validation

✔ Access control

✔ Recommendation systems

For example, an online store might check whether Stock is available before allowing a customer to place an order.

⚠️ 9. Common Beginner Mistake

Don't confuse assignment with comparison. x = 10 means: Assign 10 to x.

While: x == 10 means: Check whether x is equal to 10.

This difference is extremely important when writing conditions.

🧠 Conditional statements allow programs to move beyond simply executing instructions in sequence. They allow programs to make decisions.

Under the proposed EU Kids Act, online games, social media, and AI platforms may soon require age verification. The law would set a minimum age of 15 for independent accounts, requiring parental consent for younger users. Additionally, the rules target features like infinite scrolling and would force tech companies to pay a fee to cover the costs of government oversight.

The EU will ban social networks for under 13 and personal accounts for under 15

Ursula von der Leyen announced the framework of the future EU Kids Act in Strasbourg on September 16 in a speech about the state of the Union. The formal text will be presented by the Commission on Thursday together with Henna Virkkunen, Vice President for Technological Sovereignty.

The scheme is strict and gradual. Under 13 years old, social networks are off-limits. From 13 to 15, only "mini-accounts" are allowed: created and managed by parents, with limited features and time restrictions.

From 15 to 18, teenagers can create their own profile, but the platform must maintain a safe design: without addictive features, with enhanced settings.

Von der Leyen summarized it succinctly: "No social networks until 13. No personal account until 15." And separately: "Each age group has its own vulnerability. Therefore, each will have its own level of protection."

The essence of the law is not in another clause in the user agreement. Currently, a child can simply enter a fake birthdate and proceed. The Kids Act should make age verification a mandated obligation, not just a declaration. Brussels looked at Australia, which was the first to introduce a lower limit. The logic of responsibility is also changing. "Platforms must prove that they are safe," said von der Leyen. "It's not about minors accessing social networks. It's about when and how we allow social networks to reach minors."

In the same speech, she listed what Europe is "not obliged to accept": features tailored to induce dependence; feeds that draw users into increasingly harsh content; photos of girls that AI turns into sexualized images. According to her, children in the EU spend four to six hours a day on screens. She called this "the capture of attention, focus, and consciousness" and "the theft of childhood."

Drafts that agencies saw before the speech go beyond social networks. Video platforms, online games, and AI chatbots could also fall under the same age ladder. The project discusses penalties for violators of up to 6% of global revenue. Until 18 years old, they want to remove autoplay, rewards for reposts, personal recommendations, and free messages from strangers on children's accounts.

This is not yet law. The text will go to the European Parliament and to the 27 capitals. France pushed for a minimum age of 15, Spain spoke of 16, the Commission's expert panel leaned towards 13. The compromise announced today falls right in the middle: complete shield until 13, a parental corridor until 15, "safe design" until adulthood.

If the text passes close to what was announced, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and others will no longer be able to dismiss it with the phrase "the user stated the age themselves."
