How it works

For channels above 10,000 subscribers we compare the views on recent posts with the number of subscribers. We grouped 45,691 active channels by size, language and topic. A channel is placed in the closest group of at least 100 channels, and you see the three most read and three least read channels of that group next to it.

The forecast comes from how views build up on 142,967 posts in 12,550 channels: a typical post has 50% of its views after 24 hours. What else we found, by topic, language and size, is in our research article.

Why it matters when you buy ads

Subscriber counts are cheap to inflate and slow to fall when readers leave. Above a million subscribers, the median channel shows a post to 4.0% of its subscribers, and 28% of such channels to fewer than one in fifty. Two channels with the same subscriber count can differ in views tenfold. Compare the price per 1,000 views, not per subscriber.

Questions

What does views per subscriber mean?

The views on a typical recent post divided by the number of subscribers. Telegram counts a view when a post appears on someone’s screen. Views can also come from people who are not subscribed, through forwards and links, so a few channels go above 100%.

Which channels is mine compared with?

Active channels of the same size, language and topic. If fewer than 100 such channels posted in the 30 days before we measured them, we drop the language or the topic until the group is large enough. The group behind every answer is shown above the chart.

Why can’t I check a small channel?

Below 10,000 subscribers our view counts are not reliable enough to compare channels with each other, so the audit starts there.

Does low reach mean the subscribers are fake?

Not necessarily. Bought subscribers, abandoned accounts and people who muted the channel all lower the ratio, and from outside they look the same. What the number tells you is how many people are likely to see your post.

How fresh is the data?

Each channel’s views per subscriber come from our latest measurement of it, and the date is shown under the answer. The groups it is compared with were measured between June 11, 2026 and July 26, 2026.
