Now we're going beyond just recycling: we'll be launching the Zero Waste Hub in Nee Soon South - an expansion of the Sort It Out model that goes beyond recycling to also champion waste reduction and reuse!

We're looking for Zero Waste Ambassadors, where you'll engage residents through door-to-door conversations, introduce the new hub and conduct a short survey to understand their waste and recycling habits. Your insights will help us strengthen our outreach and shape future zero waste programmes.

📍 Why in News? 🟢 India and Belgium held their first Strategic Dialogue, reflecting the rapid expansion of bilateral ties beyond traditional trade into strategic, technological, maritime, defence and green-energy cooperation.

📍 Strategic & Diplomatic Cooperation 🟢 Strategic Dialogue: A regular mechanism to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, technology, green transition, connectivity, defence and security. 🟢 UNSC Reform: Belgium reaffirmed support for India’s permanent membership of a reformed UN Security Council. 🟢 The partnership increasingly complements the broader India–EU Strategic Partnership and India–EU Comprehensive Strategic Agenda 2030.

📍 Trade, Investment & Technology 🟢 India and Belgium aim to double bilateral trade within five years. 🟢 Priority sectors include semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, defence industries, advanced materials, critical minerals, sustainable industries and nuclear energy. 🟢 The historic diamond trade linking Antwerp with Mumbai and Surat remains an important pillar. 🟢 An India–Belgium Investment Fast-Track Mechanism will help address investment bottlenecks, while cooperation between Belgium’s SFPIM and India’s NIIF can support investment flows.

📍 Defence, Security & Maritime Cooperation 🟢 The two sides agreed to deepen cooperation on counter-terrorism, maritime security, defence technology, cyber and hybrid threats. 🟢 Cooperation may be strengthened through a Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism. 🟢 A Defence Letter of Intent covers staff talks, training, research and defence-industrial cooperation. 🟢 Belgium’s expertise in ports, dredging and maritime logistics is significant for India’s connectivity and port modernisation.

📍 Green Energy & Climate 🟢 The renewed India–Belgium MoU on Renewable Energy covers: 🟢 Green hydrogen 🟢 Solar energy 🟢 Energy storage 🟢 Offshore wind 🟢 Bio-energy 🟢 Small hydropower and pumped storage 🟢 The focus is on strengthening the green-hydrogen value chain, energy security and decarbonisation.

📍 Critical & Emerging Technologies 🟢 Semiconductor cooperation will involve India’s micro-electronics ecosystem, C-DAC, universities and Belgium’s imec. 🟢 The two sides are also expanding collaboration in AI, startups, innovation and digital skills. 🟢 Cooperation between MeitY Startup Hub and Hub Brussels will support innovation-driven entrepreneurship.

📍 Mobility, Education & People-to-People Ties 🟢 Focus on smoother visa processing and enhanced mobility of skilled professionals, students, researchers and business travellers. 🟢 Cooperation is being expanded in healthcare, nursing, education, skilling, TVET and apprenticeships. 🟢 The partnership also seeks stronger recognition of qualifications and future-skill development.

📍 Science & Research 🟢 The Belgo-Indian Network for Astronomy and Astrophysics (BINA) is an important platform for scientific cooperation. 🟢 Belgian institutions are linked with Indian astronomical facilities, including the Devasthal Optical Telescope and Devasthal International Liquid Mirror Telescope.

🌱 Екологічна акція «ЕкоСвідомість» завершена!

Протягом липня та серпня ГО «МУР» долучилася до благодійної екологічної акції «ЕкоСвідомість», організованої Запорізькою обласною молодіжною радою спільно із Запорізькою обласною студентською радою.

У межах акції ми збирали пластикові кришечки, які після переробки отримають друге життя. Для нас це була можливість не лише підтримати екологічну ініціативу, а й зробити свій внесок у формування культури відповідального ставлення до відходів.

♻️ Збір завершено, а всі зібрані кришечки ми вже передали організаторам акції для подальшої переробки.

Дякуємо всім, хто долучився до цієї ініціативи та допоміг перетворити маленьку щоденну дію на корисну справу для довкілля. 💚 ________ 🌱 The “Eco Awareness” Campaign Has Come to an End!

During July and August, the NGO “MUR” joined the “Eco Awareness” environmental charity campaign. The campaign was organized by the Zaporizhzhia Regional Youth Council together with the Zaporizhzhia Regional Student Council.

As part of the campaign, we collected plastic bottle caps. After recycling, they will get a second life. For us, this was a chance not only to support an environmental initiative but also to help promote responsible waste habits.

♻️ The collection is now complete, and we have already handed over all the collected bottle caps to the campaign organizers for recycling.

Thank you to everyone who joined the initiative and helped turn a small everyday action into something good for the environment. 💚
