IPL squad updates on Telegram: a roster is not a playing XI

Use the season squad to understand who belongs to a team, and the confirmed match lineup to understand who is selected today. A predicted XI cannot substitute for either.
Keep three lists separate
A season roster, an available travelling group and a selected match lineup can differ. A player may belong to the squad but be unavailable for a fixture. A training photo does not announce selection, and an analyst’s preferred XI is an opinion.
Record changes with dates
For a replacement or withdrawal, keep the player, effective date, announcement and any stated limitation together. Check whether the change concerns the rest of the season or a particular period. An old squad graphic can remain in circulation after a replacement has been announced.

Read the exact match announcement
Competition rules may distinguish the initial XI from named substitutes and later changes. Read the current edition’s terminology rather than reducing every name on the team sheet to a starter. Keep speculation labelled until the selection is announced.
