Search Telegram channels in any language
Telegram is written in dozens of languages, and the channel you need is not always in yours. Semantic search matches meaning, and meaning does not depend on the language, so a query in one language can find channels in another.
Real examples

Your language still counts
The language you type in nudges the results toward channels in that language. Ask for cooking recipes in Russian and you get Russian cooking channels, even if you add “in English” at the end. When your language has few channels on a topic, the search crosses over: a Spanish query about yoga for beginners lands on Russian channels, because that is where most of them are.
To get one language only, use the filter
Writing the language into the query (“…in Spanish”) works poorly, for the reason above. Pick the language in the filter on the search page instead. Next to each language you will see how many results it has, which is a quick way to find out where a topic is big. More search tips.
Countries are not part of the match
A query like “news from Brazil” finds news channels, but not necessarily Brazilian ones: the country of a channel is kept out of the meaning on purpose, so that one large country does not take over every query. Narrow by language, or name a city or a topic specific to the place. Why we did it this way.
- Type in whatever language is easiest for you.
- Expect channels in other languages when yours has few on the topic.
- Use the language filter, not the query text, to stick to one language.
