The Zen of Python

Это список из 19 тезисов по программированию на Python, который называется «The Zen of Python».

Instructor.

pip install instructor pydantic openai

import instructor, pydantic from pydantic import BaseModel

class User(BaseModel): name: str age: int

client = instructor.patch_client_mock() user = User(name="Alice", age=25) print("Extracted JSON:", user.model_dump_json())

Pydantic.

Pydantic) python3 -c "from pydantic import BaseModel; print('Instructor Validation Ready')"

Instructor Validation Ready

# cleanup (удаление файла тестового скрипта) rm -f extract_json.py

Caching a lot of methods in Python ObjectProxy.

Python Hacks

import sqlite3 import time

db = sqlite3.connect("jobs.db", isolation_level=None)

db.execute(""" CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS jobs ( id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, payload TEXT NOT NULL, status TEXT NOT NULL DEFAULT 'pending', created_at REAL NOT NULL ) """)

db.execute(""" INSERT INTO jobs (payload, created_at) VALUES (?, ?) """, ("deploy server-01", time.time()))

while True: with db: job = db.execute(""" SELECT id, payload FROM jobs WHERE status = 'pending' ORDER BY id LIMIT 1 """).fetchone()

if not job: break

db.execute( "UPDATE jobs SET status = 'running' WHERE id = ?", (job[0],) )

try: print(f"Выполняем: {job[1]}") # здесь выполняется реальная задача time.sleep(2)

db.execute( "UPDATE jobs SET status = 'done' WHERE id = ?", (job[0],) ) except Exception: db.execute( "UPDATE jobs SET status = 'failed' WHERE id = ?", (job[0],) )

13: JSON Serialization

Например, в Python: json.loads(json.dumps(("a", "b"))) вернёт: ["a", "b"]

Round trip

In the previous post, we explored Python operators and even tested ourselves with some tricky questions. Now, let's learn how Python makes decisions using Conditional Statements.

📖 Phase 1: Programming Fundamentals  📌 Topic 9: Conditional Statements (if, elif, else)

Conditional statements allow a program to make decisions based on whether a condition is "True" or "False".

Think about a real-life decision:  👉 If it is raining → Take an umbrella. ☔  👉 Otherwise → Don't take an umbrella.

Programming works in a similar way.

Why Do We Need Conditional Statements?  They allow programs to: • Make decisions • Execute different blocks of code • Validate user input • Control program behavior • Handle different scenarios

1. The "if" Statement  The "if" statement executes a block of code only when a condition is "True".

Example: age = 25 if age >= 18:     print("You are eligible to vote.") Output: You are eligible to vote.

If the condition is "False", the code inside the "if" block will not execute.

Important: Indentation  Python uses indentation to define blocks of code.

Correct: age = 25 if age >= 18:     print("Eligible") Incorrect: age = 25 if age >= 18: print("Eligible") The second example will produce an indentation error.

2. The "else" Statement  "else" executes when the "if" condition is "False".

Example: age = 16 if age >= 18:     print("Eligible to vote") else:     print("Not eligible to vote") Output: Not eligible to vote

Think of it as: If condition is true → Do this. Otherwise → Do that.

3. The "elif" Statement  "elif" means "else if". It allows you to check multiple conditions.

Example: marks = 75 if marks >= 90:     print("Grade A+") elif marks >= 75:     print("Grade A") elif marks >= 60:     print("Grade B") else:     print("Grade C") Output: Grade A

Python checks the conditions from top to bottom and executes the first condition that is "True".

4. Multiple Conditions  You can combine conditions using logical operators.

Example: age = 25 has_id = True if age >= 18 and has_id:     print("Access granted") else:     print("Access denied") Output: Access granted

5. Nested "if" Statements  An "if" statement can be placed inside another "if" statement.

Example: age = 25 country = "India" if age >= 18:     if country == "India":         print("Eligible") Nested conditions are useful when one decision depends on another.

6. Short-Hand "if"  For simple conditions, Python allows a one-line "if". age = 25 if age >= 18: print("Adult") Output: Adult

Common Beginner Mistakes  ❌ Forgetting the colon ":" after "if", "elif", and "else"  ❌ Using incorrect indentation  ❌ Using "=" instead of "==" for comparison  ❌ Writing conditions in the wrong order

Example of wrong order: marks = 95 if marks >= 60:     print("Grade B") elif marks >= 90:     print("Grade A+") Output: Grade B

Why? Because Python stops at the first condition that is true.

Correct order: if marks >= 90:     print("Grade A+") elif marks >= 60:     print("Grade B") Real-World AI Example  Conditional statements are also used in AI applications. confidence = 0.92 if confidence >= 0.90:     print("High confidence prediction") elif confidence >= 0.70:     print("Medium confidence prediction") else:     print("Low confidence prediction") Output: High confidence prediction

This type of logic can be used alongside Machine Learning models to decide what action to take based on a prediction or confidence score.

Key Takeaways  • "if" checks a condition • "elif" checks additional conditions • "else" handles everything that doesn't match the previous conditions • Python uses indentation to define code blocks • Conditions can be combined using "and", "or", and "not" • Python executes the first matching condition in an "if/elif/else" chain

Comprehensive Discord Bot Development I’m looking for a developer who can build a single, reliable Discord bot to run my server’s entire workflow—from daily moderation tasks to game-specific integrations—without me having to juggle multiple add-ons. It should be simple but yet effective, and a website would be optimal.

Core scope The bot must streamline staff and user interactions while keeping everything logged for easy auditing. Applications, ticketing, queue handling, and automated reopenings should all happen seamlessly inside Discord. For our gaming community, I want real-time Brawl Stars data pulled through the official API so members can check player, clan, and leaderboard stats on demand.

Moderation & automation Auto-mod rules (filters, timeouts, raid protection) need to fire instantly, with kicks, bans, mutes, and role changes stored in a searchable log that includes the staff member’s reason. When a staff position opens, the same bot should accept applications, assign the review queue, and alert selected candidates.

Quality signals • All commands must respect Discord rate limits and permissions. • Every action—whether a stat lookup or a ban—should answer in less than two seconds under normal load. • Errors must be captured to a monitoring channel so we can fix issues before users notice.

Deliverables • Source code with clear, commented structure (TypeScript or Python preferred, open to discuss). • An .env-based config so I can adjust tokens, prefixes, and API keys without touching code. • Documentation that covers install, setup, and adding new commands or auto-mod rules. • A short demo video or live walk-through proving the main flows work.

If you have prior examples of Discord bots that combine moderation with third-party game APIs, share a link or repo so I can see your approach. Looking forward to collaborating and giving our community the smooth, fully automated experience it deserves. Skills required API Integration, Bot Development, C# Programming, C++ Programming, Discord API, PHP, Python, Software Architecture, Web Hosting, Website Design 💰30USD - 250USD 👤kimchi0 from , United States

WHM/cPanel & WHMCS Full Setup I have a brand-new server ready for production and want it fully prepared to sell shared hosting plans straight away. The work covers every layer from the operating-system tweaks through to turnkey WHMCS packages so that, once you are finished, clients can buy a plan, be provisioned automatically, and manage their account without my manual input.

Key components I need installed and configured: • CloudLinux with LVE Manager, CageFS, plus the Python & Ruby Selector so each account is properly isolated and can choose its own runtime. • LiteSpeed Web Server (latest stable) replacing Apache and tuned for optimal concurrency. • Kernel and security hardening appropriate for a CloudLinux + LiteSpeed stack. • WHM plugins: ConfigServer Security & Firewall (with a tested ruleset), Softaculous Auto Installer (licence already in place), and JetBackup (local and remote job schedules). • WHMCS fully tied into WHM/cPanel for Billing automation, Client management, and the Support ticket system. That includes cron jobs, email piping, a clean-looking order form, and at least three starter hosting packages mapped to WHM feature lists.

Deliverables (accepted when each item works end-to-end): 1. Root SSH access secured, CSF firewall active, all unnecessary ports closed. 2. CloudLinux features visible per cPanel account and resource limits enforced. 3. LiteSpeed serving all virtual hosts with HTTP/2 and QUIC enabled, SSL tested. 4. Daily and weekly JetBackup jobs running both locally and to my remote FTP store. 5. WHMCS clients able to purchase a package, receive credentials, open tickets, and be invoiced/paid automatically. 6. A brief hand-over document outlining what was changed and how to keep everything updated.

Everything should be done via the command line or appropriate web interfaces with zero residual warnings in WHM’s Security Advisor. Let me know the estimated timeframe; DNS is already pointed, so you can start as soon as you have the login credentials. Here's a small fact about Python 🐍

The := operator is called the "walrus" because the symbols resemble the eyes and tusks of a walrus 🦭

It was introduced in Python 3.8 and allows you to assign a value to a variable and use it directly within the expression at the same time.

For example:

while (line := input("Say something: ")) != "quit": print(f"You said: {line}")

Without it, you would have to retrieve the value separately using input(), and then check it.

Have you ever used the := operator in your code?
