Why the order differs from subscriber counts

UnderStand UPSC ranks above study for civil services although the latter has 2.5 times more subscribers: 33.5% of UnderStand UPSC's subscribers view a typical post against 3.8%, so each post reaches about 38,517 people against 11,107.

The largest UPSC channel we track, Vision IAS (Official) with 402K subscribers, is not in the table: only 1% of its subscribers view a typical post.

4 of the top 25 are run by people who cleared the exam and put their All India Rank (AIR) in the channel name, and their posts are read far more closely than a typical UPSC channel’s.

How to spot fake exam channels

Exam channels attract copycats that borrow a famous teacher's name, sell “leaked papers” or pad their subscriber count to sell ads. Before you join or pay, compare views with subscribers, check the channel's age and look for the teacher's official links. How to check a Telegram channel.

Questions

Which is the best Telegram channel for UPSC?

By real reach, Clarity for UPSC by Dr.Shivin (AIR - 297) (@theanonymousupscaspirant): a typical post was viewed by about 96,263 people when we measured. “Best” depends on what you need, though: current affairs, optional subjects and answer writing are covered by different channels in the table.

Why do you rank by views instead of subscribers?

Subscriber counts include people who left long ago and accounts that were bought. Views per post show how many aspirants actually see the channel’s material today.

Why is a channel I use not in the list?

It may have fewer than 10K subscribers, not have posted in the month before we measured, or offer copies of paid books and courses, which we do not list. Channels mainly about state PSC exams are left out of this UPSC ranking.

Are UPSC PDF channels legal?

Channels sharing free copies of paid coaching material and books infringe the authors’ copyright and are often taken down. We leave them out of the ranking.

How we ranked

We found UPSC channels by meaning and by name: a channel is in the list if the exam is named in its title, username or main topics (or in its description, when the channel is closely about the exam), and channels mainly about other exams were removed by hand. Only public channels with 10K+ subscribers are counted. Real reach is the views of a typical recent post, measured in summer 2026; the table includes only channels that had posted within 30 days of measurement, and leaves out channels whose name or description offers copies of paid books and courses. Ads, languages and topics are labelled automatically from channel content. Data to 2026-09-04. What reach means and how it varies is in how to spot fake subscribers.
