Best time to post on Telegram channel

No universal winning hour emerges from this English-language sample. Across all eight three-hour UTC windows, mature views differed from the channel baseline by between -0.82% and +0.46%. The largest apparent advantage is too small to justify a universal schedule.

Each post is divided by its channel’s geometric mean views, using posts observed at ages 7–30 days. We average the log ratios within each time window, then convert back to a percentage. Channels need at least eight eligible posts. Posts, rather than channels, have equal weight within a window; this is not a randomized timing test.

Best time to post on Telegram for your audience

The 947 channels are identified by language, not by country or subscriber timezone. UTC 12:00 means 17:30 in India and 15:00 at UTC+3. Choose a time when your readers can act on the post, then test it within your own channel; a job deadline and a weekly essay have different needs.

An earlier Russian- and Ukrainian-language analysis also found small daytime differences: -0.30% at 09:00–11:59 and -0.90% at 15:00–17:59, measured in UTC+3. Its nighttime bins are smaller and differ more. It is a separate population and timezone, not an English-language or worldwide scheduling rule. See the original reach study.

Best time to post on Telegram: when to check views

The original reach study’s view accumulation estimates explain why early comparisons can mislead. Its median post had collected 15.0% of the mature-view baseline after one hour and 50.4% after 24 hours. These are ratios to a channel baseline, not repeated measurements of the same post.

24 hours3,22150.4%
48 hours2,96562.5%
72 hours3,07266.8%

At seven days the median ratio was 92.2%. For a timing experiment, compare posts at the same age and keep topic and frequency as similar as practical. A result in the first hour answers a different question from total views after a week.

Frequently asked questions

Is evening the best time to post on Telegram?

Our English-language sample shows no meaningful universal evening advantage. All eight UTC windows differ by less than 1% from the channel baseline in mature views.

Should I delete and repost a Telegram post with low first-hour views?

Early views are incomplete. In the separate view-accumulation study, the median one-hour result was about 15% of the mature channel baseline. Compare posts at the same age before changing your schedule.

Sources and method

Posting time and format: queried the local database on October 20, 2026. English-language public channels, excluding groups, need at least eight event-crawl posts with positive views, observed 7–30 days after publication. Latest observations are deduplicated by channel username and post URL. The 15,223 eligible posts were published June 28–September 24 and observed through October 1, 2026. Formats need at least three posts on each side within a channel. Channel baselines and feature differences use log views; no significance or causal effect is claimed. The crawl is selective and post age remains a confounder.

Reach: June 11–July 26, 2026 study, 45,691 active channels with at least 10,000 subscribers, analyzed before July 27 to exclude a later unreliable analysis batch. Active means a post within 30 days before analysis. Channels are deduplicated by ID, then title and subscribers, then username. The view-accumulation sample is separate; mature baselines use posts aged 7–30 days. Ad and topic labels are inferred and cannot establish conduct or causation.
