Bought Telegram subscribers: what fake growth looks like
Among 229 active channels with more than one million subscribers, 64 had reach below 2% in June–July 2026. Low reach is a warning sign to investigate, not proof that subscribers were bought.
Bought Telegram subscribers and low views
In 45,691 active channels with 10,000+ subscribers, low reach was common enough to need context. Among 229 channels above one million subscribers, 64 fell below 2% reach. That is a screening threshold, not a count of proven fake channels.
| Subscribers | Channels | Median reach | Below 2% reach | Below 5% reach |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10K–20K | 15,418 | 8.3% | 13.5% | 33% |
| 20K–50K | 17,778 | 8.0% | 14.1% | 34% |
| 50K–100K | 7,112 | 6.4% | 19.2% | 41.3% |
| 100K–300K | 4,366 | 6.0% | 21.6% | 44.3% |
| 300K–1M | 788 | 5.8% | 22.5% | 45.2% |
| 1M+ | 229 | 4.0% | 27.9% | 54.1% |
Size matters: median reach is 8.3% at 10K–20K subscribers and 4.0% above one million. Comparing both with one “healthy reach” number would flag very different populations. Use posts at a comparable age and a typical result, not the single best or worst post.
Bought Telegram subscribers: check your reach
Enter a channel’s subscriber count and typical mature views. The comparison uses the same 45,691-channel study, observed in June–July 2026; it is an offline benchmark, not a live verification of a channel.
8.0% reach
The 20K–50K benchmark median is 8.0% across 17,778 active channels. The middle half ranges from 3.5% to 18.0%.
A reach comparison alone cannot establish whether subscribers were bought.
How to spot fake Telegram channel growth
Look for a subscriber jump without a matching change in mature views, and ask the admin for recent subscriber and traffic-source statistics. Our snapshots do not contain the longitudinal join data needed to prove purchased subscribers. The 2% threshold only identifies cases to investigate.
Advertising and networks are other reasons to compare like with like. For 10K–100K channels, the study’s network-labelled group had 6.7% median reach across 8,554 channels, versus 8.2% across 31,754 others. A shared ad contact is an association, not proof of an owner, bot network or mutual-promotion result.
Should you buy Telegram subscribers?
The study measures readers relative to the subscriber counter, so adding subscribers who do not read mechanically lowers that ratio. It cannot tell you the return on buying promotion. For paid placements, compare expected mature views and audience fit, then use the channel audit and network checker before pricing a deal.
Activity can also distort the comparison: in the original 10K–100K inactivity analysis, channels silent for over six months had 31.0% median stored reach, versus 6.0% for those posting within seven days. Old posts had longer to gather views. High stored reach in a dormant channel is not evidence of an active audience. Read the full reach study for the filters.
Frequently asked questions
Does low Telegram reach mean fake subscribers?
No. Size, topic, inactivity, post age and audience fit can all affect the result. Low reach is a reason to investigate, not proof of bought subscribers.
Can bought subscribers help a Telegram channel grow?
An audience counter alone does not establish reader growth. Compare new subscribers with subsequent mature views and traffic sources; these snapshots cannot measure the return on buying subscribers.

Sources and method
Reach: June 11–July 26, 2026 study, 45,691 active channels with at least 10,000 subscribers, analyzed before July 27 to exclude a later unreliable analysis batch. Active means a post within 30 days before analysis. Channels are deduplicated by ID, then title and subscribers, then username. The view-accumulation sample is separate; mature baselines use posts aged 7–30 days. Ad and topic labels are inferred and cannot establish conduct or causation.
All tables are baked into this page; no database query runs when you open it. Source dates differ and are shown beside each comparison. These are observational associations in discovered public channels, not a controlled growth experiment.
