Check the claim, not just the oldest post

  1. Record the claimed startWrite down the year in the channel description, seller’s offer or brand announcement. A claim about the business is different from a claim about this channel.
  2. Look up the channel IDUse the example above or paste your channel. Known examples and numeric IDs use the saved data; other public usernames require a lookup in our catalog.
  3. Compare the periodsIf the estimated creation period is entirely later than the claimed channel start, ask for evidence. If it overlaps the claimed year, this check alone cannot resolve the claim.

Which date are you actually checking?

EvidenceWhat it can establishWhat can go wrong
Numeric channel IDThe estimated birth period of the underlying channelAn ID range is not an exact timestamp; some recent IDs are outside our mapped data
Oldest visible postThe date of a surviving postEarlier messages can be deleted; the oldest visible post is not necessarily the first
Current name or usernameThe current public identityA name can be changed, so it does not date the channel
Brand launch dateWhen the brand appearedAn older channel may have been renamed or repurposed

A channel created before a project existed may have been renamed. That can explain an age mismatch without proving impersonation. Check whether the project’s official website links to the same username before treating an old channel as authentic.

How this age estimate works

Our saved research maps Telegram channel IDs to issuance ranges. The answer is the time window associated with the range containing the ID. Newer mapped blocks can narrow the window; older broad ranges can span years. An unmapped ID should remain undated rather than receive an invented birthday.

Read the ID clock study and validation. The creation-date guide adds historical comparisons across topics. For an identity concern, continue with the fake-or-real checklist.

Questions about this check

Can a channel age checker find an exact creation date?

An ID-based checker estimates a creation period, not an exact day. If the original creation service message survives, its date is a separate piece of evidence. Wider ID blocks produce wider estimates.

Does a username change reset the channel’s age?

The numeric channel ID remains the basis of this estimate. Renaming a channel or changing its public username does not mean that the underlying channel was newly created. A channel’s age and the age of its current brand can differ.

Can I check a private channel or an ID with −100?

A known numeric channel or supergroup ID can be compared with the saved ID ranges, including the Bot API −100 form. The checker cannot discover the ID behind a private invite link. Basic groups use different numbering and are not supported.
