GATE Telegram channels: choose by paper and practice task

The useful unit for GATE preparation is your selected paper, not the word GATE in a channel title. A large general feed can be less helpful than a smaller one that explains the exact subjects you are revising.

Write the paper code before choosing a channel

The official GATE material separates General Aptitude from the candidate’s selected subject. Check your paper’s syllabus before collecting notes. A Civil Engineering explanation is not a substitute for Computer Science practice, and a channel covering several branches may post only occasionally about yours. Check the balance of recent examples and the labels attached to each set.

Practise the response format as well as the topic

GATE uses multiple-choice, multiple-select and numerical-answer questions. In Telegram discussions, a one-letter answer can hide the reasoning that matters. For a multiple-select question, account for every option; for a numerical question, show units and intermediate steps. Use the official instructions for marking and answer entry rather than transferring rules from another examination.

Keep explanations connected to a syllabus topic

Save a question under its concept, such as networks or fluid mechanics, rather than under the date you happened to receive it. Record the mistake, the corrected method and a second problem that tests the same idea. An endless archive is less useful than a short revision queue you can finish before the next timed practice session.

Use a complete test environment for timed work

Telegram is useful for explanations and follow-up discussion. A poll does not reproduce the complete examination interface or prove readiness for a full paper. Do timed practice in an appropriate test environment, then return to the channel with one specific doubt. Avoid comparing scores from sets with different paper coverage or marking assumptions.

Keep admission and employment claims separate

A preparation publisher may discuss higher study, admissions or recruitment opportunities alongside GATE. Read the institution’s or employer’s own requirements before drawing a conclusion about eligibility or selection. This guide helps select study communities; it does not promise a qualifying score, admission, interview or job from using a particular channel.

Your next study session

  1. Choose your paper and map its syllabus topics.
  2. Inspect worked examples from that paper, including different response formats.
  3. Attempt each example before reading the explanation.
  4. Carry unresolved concepts into a timed-paper review.

GATE: a catalog starting point

We identified 16 public channels with 1K+ subscribers in this exam-topic pool, including 14 with 10K+. After the distribution-signal filter, 15 remain eligible for a sample. 9 have usable historical reach observations. These are preparation publishers, not verified exam-authority accounts.

Relevant coverage comes first, followed by usable historical estimated views per post, then subscriber count when no usable reach observation exists. Labels and counts can change. Inspect current posts before joining.

Estimated views are catalog subscribers × the recorded engagement ratio. We use that signal only for 10K+ channels analysed before 27 July 2026, excluding the known 0.45 placeholder, and with a post observed within 30 days before analysis. “Not used” does not mean zero views. No row establishes present-day activity, teaching quality or official affiliation.

Questions about GATE

Should I join every GATE branch channel?

Join a branch feed only when it serves your selected paper or an explicitly planned second paper. Broad subscriptions can bury the questions you need.

Are the GATE channels in the table affiliated with the organising institute?

No affiliation is established by this catalog. A publisher using “official” in its own title is not thereby an official GATE authority.

About this catalog snapshot

The catalog was extracted on 2026-10-18 from a local database snapshot, not from a new Telegram crawl. We match exam names and preparation context, remove obvious unrelated matches and deduplicate public channel records. The latest catalog check in the extraction is 2026-10-06; individual observations are older where shown. Exam topic and language do not establish a channel’s country.

The broader recount finds 477 distinct public 10K+ channels naming an Indian exam in the title or username with an education signal. It excludes ambiguous Bengali SSC and unrelated language pools. This stricter name-based recount is a different definition from earlier semantic research and should not be interpreted as growth or decline.

Samples omit channels whose public metadata advertises PDFs, leaks, cracked products or free copies of paid courses. This intentionally conservative filter can exclude legitimate PDF publishers and does not certify the rights to every remaining post. We do not inspect private groups, buy courses or test teaching outcomes.

General exam facts were checked against the relevant issuing organisations while preparing the guide. This is an independent preparation resource; confirm dates, eligibility, fees and candidate instructions in your current official notice. We publish no live deadline calendar or claim of official endorsement.
